Missions

At Global Soles, our Christian belief mandates that every child and adult deserve the basic necessities of life. By providing shoes to underprivileged children and adults, our goal is to improve public health, well-being and dignity of communities worldwide.

History

Rotimi Akinnuoye, is President and founder of Global Soles. I imagined that we would be able to provide shoes for children around the world who did not have shoes. Started in Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa. We’ve been to Jamaica, Swaziland, Malawi and Haiti.

See web site for more info. started as an idea in august 2007, Soweto. first shoes delivered August 2008 to Swaziland and Soweto.

I saw a need on my initial trip to Soweto in August 2007. kids walking around in cold weather without shoes on. hundreds of kids not just a few, in the townships of South Africa.

We collected shoes and money from my church, Emmanuel Baptist Church, friends, co-workers, family, businesses and anyone else that would donate. too the shoes on a flight, about 500 pair of shoes, to Soweto and Swaziland with two friends, Kemi Sosanya and Sharen Milner. we delivered shoes directly to children in orphanages and townships in Soweto and St. Paul’s Church in Swaziland. we also purchased about 400 pair of shoes in South Africa and Swaziland to give away. Since then we’ve delivered over 5000 pairs of shoes around the world. Including 2000 to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti in April 2010.
