AMS Quarter of A Century Gala

To raise $100,000.00

The Aesclepius Medical Society’s Quarter of a Century Anniversary Gala will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011, from 9:00 PM to 2: 00 AM, at Leonard’s La Dolce Vita. This is the Society’s single most important event. Our goal is to raise $100,000.00 to help the earthquake victims of Haiti, build a hospital in Gonaives and support the clinical educational activities. These are very important undertakings that the Aesclepius Medical Society (AMS) has seriously been involved with and seeking to continue with support of individuals who believe in these causes. In the aftermath of the overpowering earthquake that devastated Haiti on January 12, 2010 and beyond, the organization has sent approximately 150 volunteers to Haiti, to donate food, water, clothes and 2000 pairs of shoes donated by Global Soles. Today, the need is no less than before. To that effect, we have selected the following theme for our upcoming fundraising event:

The Gala is, indeed a fundraiser, but it is likewise a time to celebrate our hard work and honor others for the work they have performed, in helping Haitians, following the earthquake, and the priceless efforts in helping our community. The honorees are Dr. Daniel Laroche, Nicola Cavallo, Dr. Claude Surena, Martine Kimmey, Dr. Jean-Robert Desrouleaux and Rotimi Akinnuoye, Founder of Global Soles. Dr. Georges J. Casimir will emcee the event and entertainment will be provided by a very well-known DJ.

AMS has the history of honoring distinguished individuals who have reached great success in our community. To name a few: Honorable Brooklyn Borough President, Marty Markowitz; Medgar Evers President, Dr. Edison Jackson; former NYC Mayor, David Dinkins; Kings County Hospital Medical Director, Dr. Kathie Rones; U.S. Army Colonel, Joseph E. Baptiste, NYS Secretary of Health, Antonia Novello; Chrysler Vice–President of Design, Ralph Gilles; and Deputy Borough President of Manhattan, Rosemonde Pierre-Louis.

AMS is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization with 25 years of community service. We need everyone’s support to get more achieved. Come and support AMS’ endeavors for a better Haiti!
